Horror Movie News: I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scary Movie sequels in the works

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER gets a remake.

After the disastrous performance of the TV series based on the original movie, there's a brand new movie on the works.

The original movie was about a group of friends accidentally hitting a man in a road accident. They are then stalked and killed by a deranged killer and suspect that it may be the guy they killed.

I Know What You Did Last Summer became a cult movie and is remembered even today by the horror community who lauded Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.s  performance.

The movie saw several spoofs and remakes but none of them proved to be as successful as the original.

The new movie is set to release next year and is modelled after the reboot route the Scream franchise took.

Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt maintain that they have yet to sign on the movie despite the rumor that they have already decided to be a part of the reboot.

Apart from them, there are talks of actors Madelyn Cline, Camila Mendes, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, and Jonah Hauer-King also starring in the movie.

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER has a tentative release date of July 18th 2025.

This isn't the last we have seen of Scary Movie spoofs.

The Scary Movie franchise has drummed up a lot of business despite poor critic reviews and the last one in the franchise was released in 2013.

Following that, there were always talks of a sequel but nothing materialized until recently.

It is now reported that Scary Movie 6 will be coming out soon although there isn't a director attached to the project yet. The cast too has been kept under wraps.

Former cast members Regina Hall and Anna Faris have expressed an interest in returning but only if the script is good and is accompanied by a good pay check.

Scary Movie 6 fan posters are doing the rounds and many horror  fans would love to see a spoof on the recent hits like Midsommar, Hereditary, etc.

SCARY MOVIE 6 should release sometime in the fall of 2025.
