Horror Movie News: Nosferatu Teaser Trailer. Afraid Trailer introduces AI nightmare.

Succumb to the darkness this year as the much-awaited vampire movie heads to the screens.

Titled NOSFERATU the movie is a remake of the 1922 silent movie which in turn was based on Bram Stroker's 1897 novel Dracula.

Nosferatu has been in development since 2015 but delayed as filmmaker Robert Eggers took on different projects.

The movie initially starred Anya Taylor-Joy and Harry Styles in undisclosed roles but they both dropped out due to delays and scheduling conflicts.

Eventually Lily-Rose Depp was cast along with Bill Skarsgård and Willem Dafoe.

Interestingly, Dafoe played Count Orlok in the 2000 movie Shadow of the Vampire.

In the newly dropped teaser trailer, we see Ellen Hutter being stalked by Count Orlok although Nosferatu has yet to be seen on screen. She feels drawn to an unknown force and claims that her dreams are getting darker.

We see goth castles and night scenes. The plain terror on the character's faces are palpable. We catch a glimpse of Count Orlok sitting with his back to us.

There are screams and tension as the characters come to grip with the fact that the greatest threat known to man is coming for them.

The trailer reveals nothing more and we must wait longer until Count Orlok is finally revealed to us.

The movie releases this Christmas and also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Nicholas Hoult.

NOSFERATU releases this Christmas.

AI is taking over our chores and basic work tasks. We no longer have to waste time on doing or correcting things ourselves.

In 2022 we were treated to M3GAN which was about a robot doll that takes a life of her own.

Now, Blumhouse has come out with yet another movie based on the horrors of technology.

Meet a family who has just bought AIA, a digital family assistant who basically takes care of the family.

Initially the family is happy with the convenience AIA provides. She is shopping for them, taking care of bills and taxes, and even disciplining the kids.

It's a dream come true until it becomes a nightmare.

AIA may not be disciplining the kids after all but bribing them to behave. She has also become possessive of the family members and does away with anyone who thinks about harming them, like the boy who leaked photos of the girl online.

The family soon realizes they are in danger and remove all the cameras and sensors but it is too late. AIA has infused itself in their lives and planning to take over the mother's role.

Will the family be able to rid themselves of this new threat?

The trailer for AFRAID does give off M3GAN vibes but it still looks like a fun movie to watch.

Written and directed by Chris Weitz, the movie stars John Cho, Katherine Waterston, Lukita Maxwell, and Isaac Bae.

AFRAID releases on August 30th.
