Horror Movie News-- Nature bounces back in THE RED. Megan Fox stars in AI thriller SUBSERVIENCE

There's something new to fear in the Outback. Yes, there are all sorts of dangerous creatures out there, and there may be zombies to fear.

But imagine if what you have to fear is part zombie and part animal?

THE RED is an upcoming horror movie about a zombie kangaroo. The movie is based on a short film called Waterborne, which was released nine years ago.

WATERBORNE was about a ranger coming into a small town where the water supply is overrun with unidentified algae. The ranger learns the hard way how wrong things can go.

He is attacked by a zombie kangaroo. The ranger manages to shoot him, but the kangaroo returns and lunges at him and kills him off screen.

In the trailer for The Red, we find a Sheriff who is investigating a series of killings in the town. We see the same board that was in the short that warned people about the contaminated water supply.

Camping tents are torn, and the bodies inside are ripped apart. The investigating team are pondering on what kind of animal they are dealing with when they are attacked by a large kangaroo. But wait, that's not all. The kangaroo is also a zombie and, unlike its human counterpart, doesn't walk around in a daze. In fact, it kills and rips in seconds.

The sheriff is seen hiding while the backup is attacked by a kangaroo. Can the sheriff and the town survive a zombie kangaroo attack?

The movie's tagine: Rippy goes rogue implies it may have some dark humour instilled in the story somewhere.

The movie is directed by Ryan Coonan, who is also the writer alongside Richard Barcaricchio.
The Red stars Michael Biehn, Tess Haubrich, and Aaron Pedersen.

THE RED releases on October 31st, just in time for Halloween.

If you're missing M3GAN and can't wait for its sequel, look no further to satisfy your AI-themed horror movie craving.

Megan Fox, Michele Morrone, Matilda Firth, and Madeline Zima star in the new horror movie SUBSERVIENCE. Yes, everyone names in the main cast begin with the letter M.

The trailer of SUBSERVIENCE will remind you a lot of M3GAN minus the zany dance that went viral for a while.

The trailer starts with father Nick and his daughter visit Cobal Industries Life Simplified. There, they meet Alice, an AI who manages to charm the daughter. Nick gets convinced to get Alice to help with the housework and his daughter since his wife Maggie is sick.

While Alice manages with simple tasks like cooking and taking care of the child, she also takes it upon herself to cheer a depressed Nick by getting intimate with him.

Nick regrets his mistake, but clearly, this isn't a one-time thing. Maggie finally comes home and Alice pretty much tells her that her medication can lead her to drown in her bathtub.

It doesn't take Alice too long to go full on berserk. There may be a few more scenes lifted from M3GAN, including one where Alice is all tied up and covered in plastic only for her to awaken and take down the people in the lab.

Can the family survive Alice? Probably. They may just find the Off switch on time but no doubt the movie will end with another Alice robot being activated.

The movie is written by Will Honley, and April Maguire. The director is S.K. Dale.

SUBSERVIENCE releases on September 13th.
