Horror Movie News: The Strangers: Chapter Two Teaser drops. The second season of Goosebumps is coming soon.

Is Tamara here?

No, she’s not. She’s never at home, is she?

The Strangers, when it released in 2008, became an iconic horror movie, and the dialogue, “is Tamara home?” send chills down the spine. Why? Because that is the excuse the strangers used to terrorize the couple who end up tied up in their own house.

After a sequel, a sort of reboot was announced and we got THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER ONE. The movie failed to impress critics as well as fans of the original movie. Chapter One barely managed to amplify the tension in a movie that is about having intruders stalk and terrorize you in a place you thought was your safe zone.

The Strangers: Chapter One, ended with Maya being the only survivor as the strangers: Scarecrow, Pin-up Girl and Dollface, killed her boyfriend Ryan.

The first movie showed Maya in the hospital with Scarecrow looking over her.

In the teaser trailer for the second chapter, we see Maya wake up on her hospital bed and roam around the hospital looking stressed. She is then seen running down the road in the rain and taking a lift.

Clearly, she is running from someone, most likely the Scarecrow.

Once in the car, she begins to suspect the other passengers. The woman up front has a knife, and the man beside her has a smiley face tattoo. She hallucinates them as the intruders wearing the same masks. After what she has gone through, she is obviously scared and won’t be able to trust anyone now, will she?

The teaser does look promising and the tension and thrills have been taken up a notch. This is exactly what the franchise needs, that one defining movie which will get the audience to the edge of the seats, anticipating something terrible happening to the protagonist.

The Strangers: Chapter Two looks like it might deliver on its promise to create a chilling franchise. The teaser ends with a little girl asking if Tamara is there.

Someday, a character called Tamara is going to say yes.

The Strangers: Chapter Two will release early 2025

In other news, the trailer for the second season of the Goosebumps series is here and this time there is an all new cast.

Unlike the previous series that had a different story in each episode, the new series which premiered in October 2023 used the serialized storytelling technique. The show was well-received and a second season was greenlit.

In the trailer for the second season, we see that David Schwimmer heads the cast. The former F.R.I.E.N.D.S star plays a divorced dad who has his kids staying with him during the summer. As his kids, twins Cece and Devin enter the house, their father Anthony, warns them to stay out of the basement.

As the twins meet new friends, they learn of the mysterious disappearance of four kids in 1994. One of them was Anthony’s brother.

On the other side, Anthony meets with Ana Ortiz’s character who is probably playing a detective. She gives him an evidence packet which contains Anthony’s brother’s clothes.

Anthony uses his microscope to study the clothes and finds something unusual.

In the next instant, a plant vine grabs him. The enter his skin and not soon after, Anthony experiences a personality change.

Devin and Cece, along with their new friends, discover strange happenings around them. There is a lot of brown goo and vines coming from everywhere.

The kids begin to wonder if Anthony is behind it all.

The second season of Goosebumps looks promising and is a slice of nostalgia for all the kids who grew up in the nineties and read the Goosebumps series.

I sure did and even as an adult, I am looking forward to checking out the second season of Goosebumps.

The new seasons also stars Jayden Bartels, Sam McCarthy, Francesca Noel, and Elijah M. Cooper.

The second season drops on Hulu and Disney + on January 10th.
