Quick Horror Movie News: Maddock Films Announces Upcoming Movies in Franchise

Horror fans are in for a surprising treat. 

Maddock Films has announced all the upcoming films in its horror-comedy universe! 

This sure is a wonderful New Year's gift for all horror fans who are waiting to find out what is next after last year's hit Stree 2 released.

Not only has Maddock Films announced this year's horror-comedy movies but also the movies that will be released in 2026, 2027, and 2028.

The question is, will there really be no more movies in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe?

This year, Diwali will fall in October, which means that THAMA will release around that time.

Not much has been revealed about the movie except that it will star Ayushmann Khurana and Rashmika Mandanna. Filming has already begun on the movie and is reportedly based on vampire lore. Ayushmann Khurana will play a man turned vampire. 

In Bhediya, we were already introduced to a werewolf, and in Stree and Munjya, we encountered malevolent and benevolent spirits. 

In order to connect the events of the movies, a few characters have made appearances in different movies, most notably Jana, played by Abhishek Banerjee, who made appearances in Stree as well as Bhediya

Roohi, another horror-comedy movie, was supposed to be part of the universe as well, but it starred Rajkummar Rao as another character rather than his character from Stree. Also, Roohi performed poorly at the box office and received negative reviews.

Following the release of THAMA, the next release titled SHAKTI SHALINI will be released on 31st December.

The cast has not been officially announced, but according to rumours, Kiara Advani and Rashmika Mandanna will star in this one.

In 2026, on 14th August, a sequel to Bhediya will be released. Varun Dhawan is set to reprise his role as the wolf caretaker of the forest in BHEDIYA 2.

On 4th December 2026, we have CHAMUNDA. If the movie is following mythology, then the movie might be about the goddess who defeated two demons.

It is only on 13th August 2027 that we will get to see the third part in the Stree series. The writing of the movie has already been complete. 

On 24th December 2027, MAHA MUNJYA will release. The original movie was a sleeper hit, and the ending hinted at Munjya still being alive.

2028 is the year when all the characters of these movies will come together as...avengers?

Apparently, there will be a big threat that will require the powers, mettle, and brains of all the characters in the movies. 

The first part titled PEHLA MAHAYUDH will be released on 11th August, while the sequel, DOOSARA MAHAYUDH will be released later in the year on 18th October, just in time for the Diwali season.

The Maddock Horror Comedy Films have a lot in store for fans, although we will have to patiently wait for these movies to come out one by one.
