CONTROL FREAK will release on March 13th on Hulu.
In other news…
The second trailer for The Woman In The Yard has dropped, providing even more details for this captivating horror movie.
Danielle Deadwyler plays Ramona, a woman still grieving the death of her husband. She has two children played by Peyton Jackson and Estella Kahiha.
After their father dies, the daughter questions her mother about whether they will be able to stay in their house, to which the mother replies that she has no idea. The mother is using crutches, implying that she may be injured as well, leaving the eldest son to take on household responsibilities.
There is a dog as well.
As the family is picking up the pieces, one day, the son notices a woman sitting on a chair right in their yard. She is wearing a black dress and has a black veil over her head.
Ramona goes to confront her, lying about her husband coming home soon. The woman remains seated and tells her that she knows she is lying. A damaged car is revealed, showing that the husband probably died in a car crash.
The woman further delivers an ominous message by stating that she doesn’t come until she is called. The woman then reveals bloodied hands that spooks Ramona.
The woman keeps coming near to the house, and while the family tries to keep the doors locked, she enters with her shadows.
Ramona tries to switch off the lights so that no shadows are made, but the woman still enters the home, stating that "Today is the Day" and also to let her finish what she was called for.
Based on the few hints thrown in the trailer, Ramona may have been responsible for the accident and probably the one who is dying. The woman may be part of an urban legend or a prophet come to collect her part of the deal.
The trailer gives off enough suspense and intrigue to make this an absolute delight for horror fans. For once, the trailer does not reveal the entire storyline.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by Sam Stefanak, this Blumhouse produced horror movie also stars Russell Hornsby and Okwui Okpokwasili.
