Horror Movie News: Jordan Peele produced HIM and I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel trailer drop.

How far are you willing to go to achieve your dream?

Produced by Jordan Peele, the upcoming sports horror movie called HIM will show you just how far a promising young athlete is willing to go to save his future.

The recently dropped trailer for HIM shows a young footballer being asked if he really wants “this”.

And then we get to see Marlon Wayans.

Is this his first serious role? I have to admit that I expected him to break into a joke at some point in the trailer, but of course, that did not happen. HIM is all serious and while the trailer doesn’t reveal much except for the athletes training night and day, clearly there is something sinister going on.

As per the official synopsis, Cameron Cade, a promising young quarterback suffers a traumatic brain injury right before the NFL Combine. Desperate to get back  on his feet and not miss on this opportunity, he accepts the help of a retired football legend, Isaiah White to train at his secluded estate. But the training regimen takes a sinister turn and Cameron realizes that there is a price to pay for greatness and his mentor is not what he seems.

Could it be that Cameron’s brain injury is invoking hallucinations? We will have to wait until fall to find out.

Directed by Justin Tipping, who is also the writer alongside Zack Akers, and Skip Bronkie, the cast includes: Marlon Wayans as Isaiah White, Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade, and Julia Fox as Elsie White.

HIM will release on September 19th.

In other news…

The most awaited horror sequel has just released a trailer!

I Know What You Did Last Summer is the fourth movie in the franchise and a direct sequel to I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. And yes, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr are back and will reprise their roles as Julie James and Ray Bronson respectively.

In the trailer we see a couple in a house. The woman is stressed about something and her boyfriend asks her to try out guided meditation. So off she goes, laying in a bubble bath with headphones while her boyfriend is downstairs getting murdered a masked man with a hook.

We then find out that a group of friends were involved in an incident and are now receiving cards with ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ written on them.

At what appears to be a town meeting, Ray Bronson shows up, announcing that it isn’t the first time that violence like this has occurred. We are then shown the grave of Helen Shivers, a character that was more popular than Julie when the movie came out.

The friends are stalked and terrorized. There’s screaming, messages left on foggy mirrors and people being dragged off. Eventually, one of them turns to Julie James for help.

But she has one question: What did they do last summer?

The sequel may be highly anticipated by slasher fans but it is kind of cheesy. Perhaps the next trailer could focus more on the fear and terror imposed by the fisherman with a hook rather than teens screaming and sobbing.

After the disappointing TV series based on the movie, there are high hopes for the sequel. In any case, it is always nice to see the cast from the original movie show up.

Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson who is also the writer alongside Lois Duncan, Jeff Howard, and Sam Lansky, the movie stars Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah-Hauer King, Madelyn Cline, and Tyriq Withers.

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER will release on July 18th.
