Serial Killer Horror NO TEARS IN HELL Releases Today

Releasing today on VOD, digital, is the gruesome horror movie NO TEARS IN HELL. Inspired by the crimes of Russian serial killer, Alexander Spesivtsev, No Tears in Hell explores the twisted relationship between a mother and son whose home becomes a site of unspeakable horror.

Spesivtsev, dubbed the "Siberian Ripper," terrorized Russia in the early 1990s with a string of brutal murders and acts of cannibalism. The film transposes this horror to the frozen isolation of an Alaskan winter, amplifying the dread and psychological torment.

Luke Baines (Shadowhunters, A Dark Place) stars as Spesivtsev, delivering what Scatena & Rosner Films calls an “uncompromising portrayal” of the infamous killer. The late Gwen Van Dam (Star Trek: Generations) plays his domineering and enabling mother, adding a chilling layer to the film’s psychological depth.

Director Michael Caissie describes the filmmaking process as emotionally grueling yet deeply rewarding. “From writing the script to physical production, and to ultimately seeing the finished film, it really was an emotional rollercoaster,” Caissie said. “We had to take emotional breaks from the writing. Cast, crew, and even myself were crying at the monitor because it was so intense. I knew I was making something important.”

Zach Stampone, VP of Distribution & Brand Relations at Scatena & Rosner Films, echoed this sentiment: “No Tears in Hell doesn’t flinch. It drags you into the darkness and leaves a mark. This is true horror. The kind that lingers.”

Joining Baines and Van Dam are Tatjana Marjanovic, Audrey Neal, Gabriella Westwood, and Erik Fellows, rounding out a cast praised for its emotionally raw and riveting performances. The film was written by Caissie from a story by Alexander Nistratov, produced by Bernard Salzmann and Caissie, and executive produced by Michael Tadross Jr. and Nistratov.
