Orphan 3 is Official! Filming begins for the chilling sequel!
There’s something wrong with Esther.
There’s Always Been Something Wrong With Esther.
Well…obviously. Because she’s not Esther. Her real name is Leena Klammer, a 31-year-old Estonian woman who has the appearance of a 10-year-old.
So, yes, there has always been something wrong with Esther because she was never the real Esther.
And now there’s going to be something even more wrong with Esther because a third Orphan movie has been greenlit and filming has already begun!
Orphan may not be your typical horror movie. It doesn’t have a haunting or a kill every two minutes. But its thriller elements are enough to put fear into anyone.
Imagine bringing home a 10-year-old kid only to find out she’s not the prodigy you thought she was. She’s mature, not because of her reading and self-awareness but because she’s actually a grown woman with an affliction that stunted her growth.
But also, she’s very dangerous, and she will kill anyone who finds out her truth.
Orphan became a popular hit with the horror community when it was released in 2009. No one could see the twist coming. It was believed to be yet another movie about a creepy girl who is evil. Who would have thought that she was actually a grown woman?
But it was only in 2022 when the movie got a sequel. By then, the original actress, Isabelle Fuhrman, was much older, and special effects had to be used to portray her as a young girl.
The 2022 movie, Orphan: First Kill, serves as a prequel to the original movie. It shows how Leena takes on Esther’s identity after she escapes a psychiatric institute. Her persona as Esther comes with its own complications because, as it turns out, the missing girl was actually dead and the mother knew about it all along.
After a long cat and mouse game, Leena manages to kill Esther’s real family and is then passed on to the orphanage under the name of Esther.
This then led to the events of the 2009 movie.
So what will the third movie be about? No one knows yet. Plot is obviously under wraps.
There are rumors that the title is actually called Orphans and may be set between the prequel and the sequel.
Considering the title is plural, can we assume that Esther may meet her match in another orphan? Was she adopted by someone else before the Colemans adopted her in the original movie?
The movie will be directed by William Brent Bell, while the screenplay is written by David Coggeshall.
For now, the only cast member confirmed is Isabelle Fuhrman.
Orphan 3 or Orphans does not have a release date as of yet.
