Horror Movie News: The Strangers Chapter 3 Trailer drop

Is Tamara Home?

Spoilers! Spoilers!

No, she is not because, as we learned in The Strangers: Chapter 2, Tamara was the Pinup girl’s first kill after which Scarecrow and Dollface joined forces to become the murderous trio that has been stalking Maya for the past two movies now.

However, it seems that in The Strangers: Chapter 3, Maya may be joining the team.

The Strangers trilogy began in 2024, and according to news sources, all 3 movies were shot simultaneously, reducing the budget of the movie and therefore proving to be a success. It was reported that the first movie managed to recover the budget for the entire trilogy.

So whether you liked the first part or not, the sequels were still coming in.

The Strangers: Chapter 3 trailer does look promising, though, and may just redeem the entire trilogy.

However, it may also remind you of another survivor movie, KEEP WATCHING, where one of the killers’ targets was forced to become their team member and go around breaking into strangers’ homes.

Has Maya from The Strangers turned killer, too? Or is it just a ploy to survive?

In the trailer for The Strangers: Chapter 3, Maya is in a motel room when Scarecrow barges in, knocks her out, and takes down the man she was with.

In the next scene, we see Maya wearing the Pinup Girl’s mask and standing in front of two tied-up victims. She is being forced to watch the Scarecrow murder a man while his partner screams and cries.

Maya is seen in the church, and Gregory comes to talk to her. Apparently, Maya has been the only survivor so far after all these years of killing, and Gregory insinuates is because she is here for a reason.

The reason is that Maya has found her calling as the Pinup girl.

There is some running about, an axe being used to murder, and Maya being branded with a smiley face.

The trailer ends with Maya in the mask, being commanded by the Scarecrow to kill the tied-up woman.

Will Maya be forced to kill innocent people, or can she turn the tables on Scarecrow and Dollface? Does she even want to turn the tables anymore?

Since the movie is due for a February release, Maya is either pretending to seduce Gregory or has actually gone to the dark side, based on that one moment in the trailer.

Written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland based on characters by Bryan Bertino, the film is directed by Renny Harlin and features a cast led by Madelaine Petsch as Maya, Gabriel Basso as Gregory, and Ema Horvath as Shelly, alongside Richard Brake as Sheriff Rotter and supporting roles by Janis Ahern and Pedro Leandro.

The Strangers: Chapter 3 will release in theatres on February 6th.
