Ready or Not...They Will Kill You.
If you've watched the latest trailer of the movie, THEY WILL KILL YOU and thought it looked familiar. That's because it is.
They Will Kill You is produced by Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, the duo behind the horror movies IT and Mama, and directed by Kirill Sokolov.
The first trailer of the movie has dropped, and many netizens have compared it to Ready or Not.
Interestingly, the sequel to Ready or Not was to be released in April, but has been pushed up their release to March 27th. They Will Kill You also releases on March 27th.
There are some similarities between the two movies.
Both movies have 90s star icons.
Ready or Not 2 has Sarah Michelle Gellar, and They Will Kill You has Heather Graham.
The two movies also have stars from previous hit franchises.
Elijah Wood, who starred in The Lord of the Rings, is in Ready or Not 2. They Will Kill You has Tom Felton from the Harry Potter franchise.
Will the similarities end here?
In the trailer for They Will Kill You, we see a young woman on a dark, stormy night going into a building called The Virgil.
She meets with an older woman who shares the building's history of how it was built in 1923 and is one of Manhattan's most exclusive buildings.
The young woman begins work as a maid, but soon enough, finds the numerous locks peculiar and then learns that the building is a temple to Satan, where someone must be sacrificed every month.
She quickly learns that she is the newest offering.
The young woman is hiding in a closet when a group of people in robes approaches her.
But she is no damsel in distress and opens up a pouch to reveal her weapons. In a startling sequence, she quickly takes down one and then attacks the others.
Even a mean kid who stabs her is punched.
There's plenty of violence and gore to keep you on the edge, but all of it is dosed with humor as well.
Written by Kirill Sokolov and Alex Litvak, the movie stars Zazie Beetz, Patricia Arquette, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Myha’la.
