Horror Flash Fiction: Trespass

I should have never come back to this house.
But I heard a calling I could not dismiss.

My father left me the house and land.
But he told me never to touch the box.

I abided by the rules on my first visit.
On my second, I had to know.

I opened the box, and my life has never been the same.

My father was never my father.
He stole me from the werewolves because they tried to take his land.

My birthday is today, and so is the full moon.

I began to transform, and that's when I heard the clicking sounds.
In a matter of minutes, the entire house turned into a cage.

This is my home now.
This is where I must live.

Outside, the howls begin. My family has come for me.

But the cage makes it impossible for me to escape.
And so they watch me change and contort.

Helplessly, because they can never claim me.

If only they hadn't trespassed on my father's land.
