Trailer Breakdown--Fall 2: Deadpoint

The first trailer for Fall 2 is here, and it’s just as nerve-wracking as you would expect.
The sequel to Fall takes us to dizzying heights, successfully pushing us to the edge of our seats. And it's only a 1-minute trailer. Imagine what the movie will do to you.

For those of you who haven’t watched Fall, which was released in 2022, the movie was about two friends stranded atop a 2000-foot TV tower. With no way back down, the friends must rely on resilience and wit to find a way to get help.

The sequel is rumored to be connected to one of the friends from Fall, whose sister decides to tackle a dangerous plank walk in Thailand as tribute.

The trailer is more like a teaser, giving away one of the gripping scenes in the movie. It then cuts off at literally the cliffhanger. Yes, it is obviously all effects and whatnot, but as the scene plays out, the clever camera angles make it look like you are at the very top with these two women, looking down from the cliffs. It will make your stomach flip just watching it.

FALL 2: DEADPOINT Trailer Breakdown

In the trailer, we get some necessary information first.

At 11,000 feet, oxygen levels drop to 13.7%. Heart rate increases. Breathing becomes rapid. Panic accelerates dehydration. Which leads to severe confusion. Which leads to Hallucinations. Which leads to impaired judgment. Which leads to fear.

Okay, then. That means the characters are likely to hallucinate their environment and perhaps even confuse it with what is real. They could either be lower than they thought, which would make for a comedy. Or they are way higher and in extreme danger.

In any case, we do see a glimpse of three people on the plank, but when the scene opens, we see only two women. Something definitely happened to their guide or friend.

In the trailer, we see two women sitting on a plank. They are eyeing a backpack with their supplies and a walkie-talkie. One of the women gets up and decides to retrieve it. However, she will have to balance herself on some metal rungs. She takes it one step at a time, while her friend looks away, unable to deal with the anxiety.

Her friend is one rung away from the backpack when, of course, it gives away and she falls.

Or does she?

She probably grabs onto support. Her friend is too far away to help her.

In any case, we get a glimpse of the height and icy rain. Will the friends make it to safety?

The trailer ends with the words: Are You Down?

In this case, being down on the ground is much safer than climbing mountains and getting stuck without any assistance.

Fall 2: Deadpoint stars Harriet Slater, Arsema Thomas, Virginia Gardner, Grace Caroline Currey, and Tom Brittney.

Directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, and written by Jonathan Frank and Scott Mann, the movie releases on September 2nd.
