The Final Scream-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: After numerous rejections, Kia thinks she's landed a big break in a movie only to discover the true horror of her new role.

We’ve all heard stories about aspiring actors who are sometimes exploited with promises of getting the “big break”.

The entertainment industry seems all lights and glamour until you read these kinds of stories and are horrified.

Hopefully, these casting couch incidents don’t happen anymore.

THE FINAL SCREAM Movie Plot

When the movie begins and you meet Kia Anderson being told by the director that she would have to take on an unpaid role that requires her to do nudity, you expect to see yet another story being told of exploitation.

Kia has given numerous auditions for movie roles, and we see an unknown person going through the audition tapes and settling on her.

Meanwhile, Kia is dropped by her agent for becoming thirty years old. Kia is devastated and seeks solace from her girlfriend and roommate Reese.

Reese is still sceptical about her choice of career but supports Kia’s dream nonetheless.

The next day, Kia receives a callback for a horror movie she had auditioned for. It’s in a remote place, but she’s the only girl being called back!

Kia is excited and begins packing. Her girlfriend is dubious about the whole offer but knows she must be supportive which she does by allowing Kia to take her car.

Kia drives over to the house in the middle of nowhere but she’s too excited at first to see something seems off about the whole deal.

She meets Ruth who is the makeup artist and sound recorder. The cameraman is a creepy looking bald guy who leers more than smiles and uses a handy cam.

Excuses are made of this being a low budget production.

The director is Tim, who is keen on Kia getting into the skin of her character Melissa. He taps into her deepest, saddest emotions and Kia learns to deliver her scenes properly.

Reese is worried about the lack of communication with Kia after Tim takes her phone away because Melissa, doesn’t have a phone in the wild.

She still has a sneaking suspicion that something is not right and along with another friend, set off to find Kia after retrieving the address from her email.

On the other side, a girl is being made to beg for her life as make-up is forcefully applied to her. A mask is put over her and her head chopped off by a masked stranger.

Kia is blissfully ignorant of all that is going on.
Tim is getting the best performance out of her.

All hell breaks loose when she has to film a scene where she meets the other girls in the movie. Turns out, the other girls are prisoners of the sadistic trio.

They are shooting a horror movie, but it is a snuff film.

Kia freaks out but it is too late. One of the girls has her head drilled, another has her teeth all pulled out. However, in the next scene, we see her teeth intact.

Kia and two girls manage to escape, but one is quickly caught and stabbed by Ruth. Tim too adorns a mask.

They chase the girls who run for it.

Reese and her friend have almost made it to the area when their car hits one of the girls.

As she gets out to check up on her, her head is struck and stabbed. Reese gets out of the car, horrified, but is captured.

THE FINAL SCREAM Ending Explained with Spoilers!

Ruth and the cameraman are killed. Kia is captured and chained. She awakens to find Reese strapped on a chair and being harassed by Tim.

Knowing from the other girls that Tim had done terrible things to them, Kia is frightened. Both girls manage to free themselves and attack their captors.

However, Reese is murdered in front of Kia. In a fit of rage, Kia pushes Tim into the cage.

In the next scene, Kia has Tim strapped to a chair and cuts off his genitals. Then she sets him on fire.

In the last scene, Kia is watching the footage of the girls when she looks up.

Is she going to delete the videos? Make money out of selling them? Perhaps Kia developed a taste for violence after torturing Tim?

The ending was left ambiguous where Kia’s intentions are concerned.

The movie was a decent watch if you can stomach the gory scenes. Though not emphasized in the movie, the insinuation makes it a bit stomach-churning.

The acting was impressive. Kia especially has to play Melissa being scared, then actually being scared when sinister intentions are revealed. The distinction was obvious and efficient.

Scare scale: 3/5

The Limehouse Golem- My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: When Elizabeth's husband is found dead, all fingers point to her. But is it really her or the work of a serial killer? If like me, you’ve read hundreds of mysteries and are enthused about Sherlock Holmes tales, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is actually pretty predictable. Set in the Victorian Era, it promises to instil fear in you. Before Jack the Ripper, there was Golem- such is the tagline and you do want it to be the kind of movie that keeps you guessing until the very end as to the true identity of the killer.   Unlike the Jack the Ripper legend, Golem is easily recognizable in the very first instance the character is introduced.

Delirium (2018)— My take on the movie with spoilers!

PLOT SUMMARY: After leaving the asylum and put in house arrest, Tom begins to believe the house is either haunted or he is hallucinating.  Most times, when we think about criminals, we wonder what could possible have prompted them to fall into a life of crime.

Look Away— my take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot Summary: A bullied girl switches places with her reflection. She soon regrets her decision as people start dying.  What matters most? Looks or confidence? When we see someone for the first time, we do notice their looks, the way they dress. Personality and their ability to initiate and hold a conversation comes second, doesn't it? Imagine meeting someone who is good looking but is dull to the core. Now imagine someone with average looks but is someone you can have fun with or have an intellectual conversation. Which seems more attractive? Look Away takes a very bold stand where appearances are concerned. But also about self-confidence. In the end, the only argument it makes is that one cannot possess both attributes. LOOK AWAY Movie Plot  We are introduced to a timid girl, Maria whose father is a plastic surgeon. Her mother is shown to have no say of her own. She is left to watch her husband ridicule his daughter about not being careful with her looks. Maria has a friend Lily
