What is consent? And how do we accept or reject the situation as one where consent was given?

Horror Book of the Week— The Dare by Natasha Preston

Natasha Preston's latest novel The Dare will make you wary of accepting dares. The Dare was released in May 2024 and is on the bestsellers list for Teen & Young Adult Mystery Books as well as Teens and Young Adult Thrillers and Suspense. The book has since the found praise from readers who loved the author's writing style and stories. They also enjoyed the fast pace and plot twists. There were some readers who found the book to have several grammatical mistakes and found the book to be heavy on tropes. Some even found the book to be a little repetitive. Quick Book Review of THE DARE based on sample The books starts of with Marley's POV. She talks about the Wilder brothers and how they were in charge of the senior pranks. She shares some animosity with one of them, Rhett, who used to be her best friend once upon a time. Marley has her own friend group now: Luce and her boyfriend Jesse, and Atlas, Marley's boyfriend. Abigail (2024)-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot: Six criminals are brought together to kidnap a little girl, unaware that she isn't an ordinary girl. Finally, a good and entertaining horror movie. This will most likely be your first thought while you are watching this movie. It's funny, scary, thrilling and the kind of movie where you aren't sure who to root for. The cast has chemistry, the story has pace and the ending is satisfying to say the very least. Abigail should be on your list of movies you definitely watch this year. ABIGAIL Movie Plot The movie begins with a little girl doing ballet. Abigail, that's her name, is doing a perfect routine as she practices for a recital. Behind the stage, there are three criminals, waiting and planning. They were picked up one by one in a van, and no names are used. They have never met each other before and only have instructions on how to kidnap the girl. They refer to the girl as Tiny Dancer since they don't even know her name. Abigail is done with her practice s

Horror Weekly News: Smile 2 Trailer Drop. you may not want this Inheiritance.

The sequel to the 2022 hit film SMILE has finally released a trailer for its sequel. Smile was based on the short horror film Laura Hasn't Slept. The actress who played Laura, also made an appearance in Smile which was perhaps the best part of the movie. The sequel stars Naomi Scott as Skye Riley who begins to experience terrifying visions of smiley face people. In the teaser trailer, we see Skye performing on stage. Based on her lyrics that include the words tragedy, devastation and disaster, Skye is clearly a troubled soul.  Then comes a man, called Lewis, who looks harried. He screams at something behind Skye and asks it to leave him alone.  And then he kills himself in front of her. Skye's world turns upside down, literally. She keeps seeing people with the same creepy smiles on their faces. She practically screams at people to stop smiling at her. We catch a glimpse of a man, who could be Joel, played by Kyle Gallner, who is running on the road when he is hit by a car.

Editorial-- The Autopsy of Jane Doe was an underrated movie

2016 was a great year for horror films. Horror fans were treated to extraordinary stories like Lights Out, The Conjuring 2, The Limehouse Golem, and Ouija: Origin of Evil. Among these was the less talked about but unconventional, THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE.

Something in the Water (2024)-- My take on the movie with spoilers!

Plot: Five friends embark on an adventure only to face danger in the open sea. There is something in the water. Sharks, of course. What else could it be? Mermaids? Wouldn't it be interesting to see one movie where people are attacked by something other than sharks. Maybe a killer dolphin or something unsuspecting like mutated and venomous starfish. But no, it's sharks again. Although, this sharkploitation movie is actually a decent watch. You may even shed a tear if you get too involved. SOMETHING IN THE WATER Plot Meg and Kayla are walking down the street at night when a group of women begin making fun of the couple. Kayla, never the one to back down, insults them back even though Meg advises her to stay quiet. One of the women attacks Meg from behind and pushes her down the stairs. The others beat her up and force Kayla to watch helplessly. Meg loses consciousness. Some time later, Meg is headed to one of her friends, Lizzie's wedding. She is at the airport, listening t

Horror News: Mike Flanagan to helm new Exorcist project. Popular 2013 sci-fi thriller gets a follow-up movie.

Reputed horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan has been tasked with expanding The Exorcist universe. It was earlier reported that Blumhouse Productions had planned THE EXORCIST trilogy with the first one being The Exorcist: Believer followed by the sequel titled The Exorcist: Deceiver. The Exorcist: Believer released in 2023 to poor response from critics with many calling it an unnecessary sequel. Considering the original has a massive cult following and remembered after more than 50 years later, helming a popular movie that is held in high regard is a tremendous task. Mike Flanagan has made his mark in the horror community with films like Oculus, Hush, and adapting Stephen King's novels Gerald's Game and Doctor Sleep. Flanagan cemented his title as horror maestro when he wrote, produced and directed the Netflix hit The Haunting of Hill House. He has since then created four more horror shows for Netflix which included The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club, and T
